Morocco international goalkeeper Bono has moved to Saudi club Al Hilal and will earn up to six times the salary he earned at Sevilla.
Bono, 32, traveled directly to Saudi Arabia after his final appearance in Wednesday’s European Super Cup match between Sevilla and Manchester City.
Al Hilal confirmed the signing of Bono on a three-year contract on Thursday night, with the transfer fee not being disclosed, but Spanish media reported that the transfer fee would be 21 million euros.
Bono began his season-long loan move from Girona to Sevilla in the summer of 2019 and was signed at the end of the season after his performances throughout the tournament as they won the Europa League title.
He won the Europa League again in the last 2022-2023 season and also reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup with the Moroccan national team.
