There were approximately ten million 5G users in South Korea.

According to the Ministry of Science and ICT, the number of 5G users in South Korea reached approximately 10 million at the end of October. At the end of October, the Ministry of Science and Information Technology reported 9.98 million 5G customers. According to the Korea Herald, the number of 5G customers climbed by 735,113 in September.

South Korea’s 5G subscribers currently account for 14.2% of the country’s 70.4 million mobile consumers. South Korea was the first country in the world to establish a commercial 5G network, which went live in April 2019.

Subscriptions to 4G are also falling as 5G usage grows. At the end of October, there were 53.9 million 4G subscriptions, down from 397,118 in September. Apple’s iPhone 12 series was released in South Korea towards the end of October.

Apple’s iPhone 12 series is the company’s first to feature a 5G network. South Korea’s 5G transition will be aided by the introduction of the iPhone 12 models. Since its launch on October 30, Apple estimates that roughly 600,000 new iPhone 12s have been sold in South Korea.
